On Friday, February 25, 2022 the Town of Long Lake welcomed the return of the Annual Hors D’Oeuvres Tour. This event made its return in 2022 after taking a year off due to Covid.
Three restaurants participated including the Long View Lodge, Adirondack Hotel and the Long Lake Diner/Owls Head Pub. Two groups toured around to each restaurant to enjoy a great night out of dining, reviewing and laughter. Guests hailed from Columbia County, NY, Northern New Jersey, Albany, Speculator, Indian Lake, and Long Lake and more!
The winners for each location were as follows:
The Long View Lodge, Pig in a Blanket.
Adirondack Hotel, Pork Slider with candied peach jam
Long Lake Diner, Double-cream brie served with bourbon walnut sauce.
Beef Tenderloin with pulled apart bread was served at the Long Lake Diner. Fans of Trivia Night exclaimed, “Please add this to the menu!”
Long Lake Diner/Owls Head Pub served a French Dip Tenderloin with pulled apart bread, Sorbet palatte cleanser and a Double- cream brie with bourbon walnut sauce.
“The palate cleanse was a nice touch!”
Double-cream brie was a hit at the Long Lake Diner. This took top honors at the Long Lake Diner

Double-cream brie, “Loved the crunchy outside!! Nice and warm in the middle and the walnut and brown sugar dipping sauce was unique.”
Tenderloin French Dip. “Loved the green onions and beef and the pull-apart bread was soft, melt in your mouth delicious texture and flavor. Would love to order that again!”
Long View Lodge
Pig in Blanket, Snake river Farms American Wagyu Beef Hot Dog wrapped in puff pastry topped with cyprus sea flake salt. Pork and Chicken Shu Mai which was a steamed dumpling filled with ground pork and chicken. Served with spicy sambai sauce. Winner for Best Appetizer at the Long View.
Grilled Mahi Mahi Street Taco, Baha style with a Flour Tortilla, pickled onion, garden salsa, chipotle aioli and queso fresco
The Long View Lodge, top honors went to their unique take on “Pig in a Blanket” featuring a Wagu Beef Hot Dog
Each restaurant offered their own selection of original appetizers and the guests were asked to vote for the best at each location.

The Adirondack Hotel menu presented a full plate featuring Southern Italian Risotto Meatball with fresh Tomato Basil Sauce, Pork Slider with Candied peach Jam. Winner for Best Appetizer at the Adirondack Hotel and Asian Steamed Char Siu Bao Dumpling with Tare Sauce for Dipping
