Come enjoy an evening of great music. The Rubio Duo – Flute and Classical Guitar.
The Rubio Duo – Jill Rubio, flute, and Douglas Rubio, guitar – will perform in concert at the United Methodist Church in Long Lake on Wednesday, July 22, at 7:30 p.m.
Since 1983, The Rubio Duo has been delighting audiences with crowd-pleasing music for flute
and classical guitar. Their innovative concert programs feature a special emphasis on music from
the Americas. Flutist Jill Rubio is co-principal flute of the Orchestra of Northern New York. She
is Adjunct Professor of Flute at SUNY Potsdam, and band director at Potsdam High
School. Douglas Rubio is Professor Emeritus of Classical Guitar at SUNY Potsdam. He has
performed at music festivals, universities, guitar societies, and concert series throughout the
United States. Dr. Rubio is also an expert in the music of the Beatles, and teaches a very popular
online course on that subject.
There is no charge for this concert, but donations are appreciated. A reception to meet the artist will follow the concert. This 2026 project is made possible in part, with funds from Statewide Community Regrants Program, a regrants program on NYS Council of the Arts with support of the Office of the Governor and the NYS Legislature and administered by the ADK Lake Center for the Arts.
