August 14th, we’ll be treated to Bruce Matthews and his self-termed “front porch music”. Matthews is a roots musician, someone who can transport listeners with inspired, true-to-heart lyrics that put a shine on life where you may not have been able to see one. At the same time, he isn’t afraid to get deeply personal and willingly shares his ups, as well as the downs, with his audience. Americana music has always had a strong connection to storytelling, a means to give a listener a more raw, emotional delivery, overlaid with the sounds of rustic guitar and banjo, among other things. And Bruce Matthews is a master of his Americana craft, reminding us that it’s the journey in life that truly matters!
