Tips

  • Plan AHEAD. There are three NYS ROUTES aka arteries to get travelers in and out of Long Lake NYS Route 30 and NYS Route 28N.
  • Book early. There are limited lodgings available in Long Lake in April. Book now!
  • Where to view?  Well it’s just the end of the winter season and the start of mud season.. Long Lake Town Beach, Long Lake Ball Field, Mt. Sabattis Geiger Arena. If you can see the sun, you’ll be in luck, the sun will be high and there will be plenty of places to view.
  • Stay in general designated viewing areas. Hiking is not recommended due to limited emergency services. Please use common sense and understand where you are. : )
  • Please prioritize your safety! Help us help you have a great time!

Looking directly at the Sun without certified eclipse glasses or viewers can result in permanent eye damage. Only view the Sun through proper solar eclipse safety gear, like ISO 12312-2 certified eclipse glasses or viewers that meet international safety standards.

During a total eclipse, it’s safe to look at the Sun only during the short totality phase. Ensure your eclipse glasses are undamaged and follow all safety instructions. Supervise children closely when using eclipse safety gear.
