The American Legion Post 650 will host both the Long Lake Memorial Day Parade and the Hamilton County Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 25, 2026, in Long Lake.
Memorial Day ceremonies will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a traditional dedication at the Long Lake Bridge. The local Long Lake Memorial Day Parade will step off at 11:30 a.m. from the Long Lake Town Hall and proceed to the Long Lake Cemetery for services, commemorations, and the decoration of veterans’ graves.
The Hamilton County Memorial Day Parade will begin at 2:00 p.m., starting at the Mt. Sabattis Recreation Area and continuing to the front lawn of Long Lake Central School. In the event of rain, the ceremony will be held at the Long Lake Town Hall. Motorists should expect temporary traffic delays as the parades move through the community.
The guest speaker for both ceremonies is Christine Polacek of Long Lake, New York.
Christine is a native of Millbrook, New York, with a deep, lifelong connection to Long Lake. Her family’s tradition of visiting and camping in the area spans generations, starting with her grandparents in the 1950s. As the proud spouse of a 17-year active-duty Coast Guard member, she recently established her home in Long Lake, relocating to the community with her two children just prior to her husband’s deployment.
Local organizations, including fire departments, rescue squads, veterans groups, businesses, and community organizations, are invited to participate in the 2026 Hamilton County Memorial Day Parade.
