Lots of events are lining the calendar for Long Lake and Raquette Lake this week. Come to one, come to them all. Lots to do and enjoy in our communities.

Tuesday, July 7

Paint a River Rock – Children’s Program, 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m., CVW Long Lake Public Library. Paint a river rock to take home. No pre-registration required. Free while supplies last. All are welcome.

Summer Soccer, 5:30 p.m., Long Lake Ball Field. Skills, techniques, and pick-up games with Ben Conboy for students entering 7th grade and up.

Wednesday, July 8

The Somerset Trio, 7:30 p.m., Long Lake United Methodist Church. Presented by the Long Lake Friends of Music, featuring Elizabeth Scott, oboe; Atsuko Sato, bassoon; and Atao Liu, piano.

Trivia Night, 7:00 p.m., Mt. Sabattis Pavilion. Bring your lawn chairs, pack a cooler, and test your knowledge during an evening of trivia and friendly competition.

Farmer’s Market

The Onyx Clarinet Quartet, St. William’s on Long Point.

Public transportation is available aboard the Raquette Lake Camps barge. Be at the Town Dock by 5:30 p.m.; the water taxi departs at approximately 5:45 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. The quartet performs “Journey Through Time,” featuring music from Bach to Toy Story.

Friday, July 10 – Sunday, July 12

Robert Keough Memorial Art Show, Long Lake Town Hall, 1204 Main Street. Opening reception Friday, July 10, 6:30–8:30 p.m. Gallery hours are Saturday, July 11, 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., and Sunday, July 12, 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. Barn Quilt Auction Sunday at 1:00 p.m. Hosted by the Friends of the Long Lake Library.

Friday, July 10

Music by the Lake: Rocky and the Moosemen, 6:00–8:00 p.m., Long Lake Town Beach.

American rock and roll from the 1960s through today. The Long Lake Little Bus Shuttle begins at 5:00 p.m. Call 518-304-3511 for pick-up. Parking is available at the Earl A. Plumley Parking Lot, 1179 Main Street.

Raquette Lake Softball Fundraiser

2pm – 6pm. Village Green, Raquette Lake

Featuring music by Matt Grainger. All funds raised are split between the Raquette Lake Women’s Softball Team and the Raquette Lake Fire Hall Fundraiser.

Long Lake Lions Club Line Dancing Party, 6:00–8:00 p.m., Mt. Sabattis Pavilion. Line dancing instruction with Jeff Reynolds, plus trick roping demonstrations and family fun. Hosted by the Long Lake Lions Club. Donations welcome.
