Music by the Lake Returns to Long Lake for Summer 2026

LONG LAKE, N.Y. — The Town of Long Lake Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department is pleased to announce the return of Music by the Lake, a free summer concert series held at the Long Lake Town Beach located at 1204 Main Street, Long Lake, NY 12847. (NYS Route 30)

Concerts take place Friday evenings throughout the summer, with special performances during the Fourth of July holiday weekend. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy live music on the shore of Long Lake.

Friday, July 3 – Legend

6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Prepare to be transported back in time as Legend takes the stage, delivering the ultimate classic rock experience straight from the golden eras of the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. Based in Tupper Lake, Legend is one of the North Country’s favorite classic rock bands.

Saturday, July 4 – Daydream Fountain

1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Daydream Fountain is a psychedelic improv-rock band from New York’s Capital Region. Band members Reckless Barb, Planetary Jones, and Nighttime Bill have been creating music together since 2018, producing an energetic and dynamic sound that blends improvisation and emotionally driven songwriting.

Saturday, July 4 – Grit N Grace


6:30 p.m. to Fireworks
Grit N Grace brings a high-energy mix of country, rock, and dance music. The Central New York band performs songs by artists ranging from Miranda Lambert and Chris Stapleton to AC/DC and Joan Jett.

Friday, July 10 – Rocky & the Moosemen


6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
A five-piece American rock and roll cover band specializing in music from the 1960s with leads by local frontman Eric Peter.

Friday, July 17 – Altered Tones


6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
A popular Long Lake band performing acoustic and full-band covers of classic alternative and rock songs.

Friday, July 24 – Ashley Wineland


6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
National touring country artist known for powerhouse vocals and high-energy performances.

Friday, July 31 – Big Martha


6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
A six-piece tribute band celebrating the music of the Allman Brothers. Authentic performance, jam band with two drummers. Always a crowd pleaser.

Friday, August 7 – Ten Most Wanted


6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
A Capital Region favorite performing rock, pop, and soul in an extended three-hour concert. Dancing will be on the docket for this show.

Friday, August 14 – Gratefully Yours


6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
A Grateful Dead-inspired band from New Paltz known for improvisational performances.

Friday, August 21 – Jess Novak Band


6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
An energetic blend of pop, rock, and soul featuring some of Central New York’s top musicians. Mixing genres and styles effortlessly, this original band never plays a song the same way twice. This band is a powerhouse you need to experience live.

All concerts are free and open to the public. Event times are subject to change.

Music by the Lake – Frequently Asked Questions

Are the concerts free?
Yes! All Music by the Lake concerts are free and open to the public.

Can I swim before the concert?
Yes. The Long Lake Town Beach remains open with lifeguards on duty until 8:00 PM.

Can I swim after 8:00 PM?
No. Absolutely no swimming is permitted after 8:00 PM.

Can I bring lawn chairs or blankets?
Absolutely. Lawn chairs and blankets are encouraged so you can relax and enjoy the show.

Where should I park?
Parking at the beach is very limited.

We recommend parking at the Long Lake Municipal Parking Lot and either:

  • Walking to the beach via the Nature Trail, or
  • Riding the Town’s Little Bus Shuttle (free of charge)

Is there a shuttle available?
Yes. The Town’s Little Bus Shuttle provides free transportation from the municipal parking lot to the beach.

Can I bring food to the concert?
Yes. Pick up takeout from one of our local restaurants and enjoy dinner at the beach.

What dining options are available?
Please support our local businesses and check restaurant hours before the concert, as many kitchens close early.

What happens if it rains?
In the event of a major rainstorm or downpour, concerts will be moved to the Mt. Sabattis Pavilion. Plenty of parking will be available, and the Town’s Little Bus Shuttle will continue to operate.

We have never had to move a show, and we hope to keep it that way.
