Long Lake, NY — Long Lake Parks & Recreation will introduce a new winter event in 2026 with the Community Coffee House, a one-day pop-up gathering designed to beat cabin fever and bring people together during the quieter months of the year. The event will take place on Saturday, March 7, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the Long Lake Town Hall. Admission is free and the event is open to everyone.

For the day, the Town Hall will be transformed into a relaxed coffee-house setting featuring fresh coffee, a small selection of local vendors, artwork by regional artists, and hands-on creative activities. Guests are encouraged to stop in throughout the day to warm up, browse, and enjoy a casual, welcoming atmosphere.

A Clay Slab Mug Workshop is slated to be part of the event. The workshop offers attendees the opportunity to create a handmade mug as part of the coffee-house experience.

Local vendor participation will include Auntie B’s Baubles, with additional local artists contributing artwork displayed throughout the Town Hall.

From 4:00 to 6:00 PM, live music will be featured by The Cody Sisters, whose rich harmonies and roots-based bluegrass and folk sound provide an intimate and fitting close to the day. Their music emphasizes storytelling and connection, aligning with the spirit of the event.

The Community Coffee House will also feature a raffle drawing. The raffle prize will include a locally themed basket with items contributed by area businesses, a custom Long Lake print created by Alyssa Smith, and coffee-house memorabilia. Raffle entries will be available to patrons who make a purchase during the event, including purchases from vendors, the coffee bar, the mug workshop, or artwork displayed on the lattice walls.

In addition to the event programming, Long Lake Parks & Recreation is issuing a Call for Artists to help decorate the Town Hall for the Community Coffee House. Local artists ages 16 and up may submit up to two pieces of artwork, no larger than 20 x 24 inches. All work must be wired for hanging, with the title clearly marked. Accepted mediums include paintings, drawings, photographs, relief prints, collage, or any two-dimensional artwork that can be safely displayed on a wall.

There is no entry fee, and artists are encouraged to sell their work. Artists will receive 100 percent of any sales. If possible, artists are asked to provide a web link or QR code for digital purchases, though event organizers can also collect cash sales.

Submission forms must be dropped off at the Town Office by Friday, February 27, 2026 at 4:00 PM. Artwork drop-off will take place on Monday, March 2, 2026 at the Long Lake Town Hall between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM. Artists needing alternative arrangements may contact the Town Office at 518-624-3077.

The Community Coffee House is intended as a low-key winter gathering that encourages residents and visitors to get out of the house, support local creativity, and enjoy the simple things during the winter season. Parking is available on site at the Long Lake Town Hall.
