Art in Nature Exhibit Returns to Long Lake
The Town of Long Lake Parks and Recreation Department is proud to announce the return of Art in Nature, an outdoor art installation celebrating the creativity of local Long Lake artists.

This yearβs exhibition features eleven artists who were invited to paint a subject of their choice, ranging from Adirondack landscapes and local landmarks to wildlife, abstract designs, and personal interpretations. The original works are displayed throughout the community in unexpected outdoor locations, encouraging residents and visitors to encounter art while recreating, sightseeing, hiking, walking, or biking.
The projectβs goal is simple: to bring art to the people by blending man-made creativity with the beauty of the Adirondack environment. The accessibility of the outdoors is what defines Long Lake, and this exhibit provides an opportunity to see the familiar landscape through a new lens.
For the 2025 season, paintings can be found at the Mt. Sabattis Recreation Area, the Long Lake Town Beach, the Nature Trail, the Buttercup, and the Long Lake Town Hall. The artwork will remain on view through much of October before being carefully stored for the winter and returned for public enjoyment. This is the last season for this project to be viewed and we hope everyone has the chance to enjoy it.
Participating artists include Debbie Austin, Cindy Black, Matt Burnett, Melissa Burnett, Richard Chandler, Nancy Halter, Barbara Keough, Long Lake Central School Students, Sally Neenan, Jennifer Signell, and Louisa Wright.
Art in Nature continues to highlight the strong connection between the Long Lake community and the creative spirit that thrives within the Adirondacks.
