Stony Pond Trail on Wednesday February 22nd. Please note… we received snow on Thursday 5-8 inches with  more on the way this weekend.

February 24 – March 2, 2023

With the new snow and another shot at over a foot next week, all Nordic ski trails should be skiing well and have good coverage.

Truck road trails will most likely get broken out in the next few days, including Cedarlands and Forked Lake Campground Rd, lesser traveled trails such as Stony Pond Trail in the Whitney Wilderness may not be broken out. Three Brook Loop off of the Northville-Placid Trail South on route 28N is skiing well, with some large blowdown persistent but is navigable in all spots. Similar conditions are expected at Upper and Lower Sargent Ponds, as well as Powerhouse and Cascade trail off Sagamore Road in Raquette Lake.

Snowmobiling season is in swing this weekend, check www.mylonglake.com/snowmobiling for conditions report.

The Geiger Arena and Skating Rink is open regular hours, check on Facebook or by calling 518-624-3031 for ice conditions and hours of operation.

For winter hikers, traction devices and snowshoes are required on all trails.

Remember to pack extra layers and use caution anytime, especially when winter outdoor recreating.
