Long Lake Memorial Day Observance and Hamilton County Memorial Day Parade
Sponsored by the American Legion Post #650, the Long Lake Memorial Day Parade honors those who have served our country. It will begin at 11:00am with a wreath laying at the bridge, followed by a parade starting at noon by the Long Lake Fire Hall and ending with a ceremony at the Long Lake Cemetery. Later, the Hamilton County Memorial Day Parade departs from Mt. Sabattis at 2pm and proceeds to the Long Lake Central School. For more information call 518-624-3077 or visit www.mylonglake.com.
Schedule of Events
1100 – Legion Post 650 marches from LL Town Hall to the bridge for ceremony
1130 – WWI monument ceremony (military honors and lower flag to half mast)
1145 – Long Lake Memorial Day Parade begins at LL Town Hall & School Road with participants marching to LL Cemetery.
1230 – Ceremonies begin at the LL Cemetery:
1330 – Assemble and march/move to the Mount Sabattis Recreation area
1345 – Ceremony at Viet Nam Memorial
1400 – Hamilton County Memorial Day Parade begins at Mount Sabattis Recreation area with participants marching to LLCS front lawn
