It’s not everyday the New York Times writes about the Adirondacks so it is  pretty exciting when they do.  Then to find out it features mentions of our own Helms Aero Service, Long Lake, Raquette Lake and Payne’s Seaplane Service.

There are only two seaplane businesses operating in the Adirondacks and both are located in Hamilton County, the third largest county east of the Mississippi with the lowest population… (wrap your head around that)

What makes us unique (besides our quaint, friendly town with a vibrant business community open year-round) is our access to incredible forest, getaways and camping seclusion.  It’s up the invidividual to figure out their best adventure, but for a truly unique camping experience feeling worthy of stepping back in time and shedding some of the current frivolity of modern day everyday living, perhaps a seaplane camping trip is just what you need to reconnect yourself to a slower pace of life and simple pleasures.  A place to shed formality and get back to the simplicity of clear night-time skies and quiet tranquility of just being.

For more info read the New York Times Travel article on our seaplane businesses in Hamilton County, Long Lake and Inlet.
