Paddling Olympic Competition

The Town of Long Lake gears up for a Big Day on the Beach Front with three events rolled into one on Friday, July 26th, 2019.
 
The Long Lake Paddling Olympics will held July 26th at the Long Lake Town Beach, 1258 Main Street, sponsored by the Long Lake Association with free registration starting at 10:30 a.m. with races commencing at 11:00 a.m.  Look for a variety of races including Stand Up Paddling, Hand Paddling, Kayak Races, Canoe Races, Back Paddling, and many more. No experience is necessary.  Races are for kids up to age 18 only. For more information contact Kathy Duffendack at 518-624-2780. Beat Authority Live on the LL Beach

North Country Public Radio, in conjunction with the Town of Long Lake, will be hosting their Friday show, the Beat Authority from the Long Lake Town Beach on July 26th from 3:00  p.m.  to 5 p.m.  The Beat Authority with David Sommerstein is a live radio broadcast Friday show. Sommerstein will play the fresh and eclectic dance music from all over the world that fans of the show tune in for each week.Attendees will have a chance to hear their voice on the radio and win some NCPR swag and other promotional prizes provided by the Long Lake business community.

 

 

 
The day rounds out at 6pm with musician Alex Smith performing a concert on the beach stage for the fourth concert in the 2019 Music by the Lake Series.  Alex is a local Long Laker with deep roots in the folk and bluegrass community. Alex and his fiddle player will be playing a mix of their original tunes, as well as covers.  The free concert runs until 8 p.m. 
 
All activities are on the Long Lake Town Beach at 1258 Main Street Long Lake and are free.  Parking is available along NYS Route 30, Main Street and north of the bridge. There are  overflow lots at the Long Lake Municipal Lot at 1167 Main Street and Long Lake Central School with easy walking access to the Nature Trail, a pathway around Jennings Park Pond stretching from the Long Lake Ball Field to the Long Lake Town Beach along a picturesque path connecting with the outlet at the Adirondack Hotel.
 
Lifeguards will be on duty until 8pm.  Bring your lawn chairs, coolers, beach blankets and bathing suits and settle in for the entire day!
