Featuring: Green River Tribute Band \nGreen River – The #1 Nationally Touring Creedence Clearwater Revival/John Fogerty Tribute Show is the brain child of native New Yorker Rick Horvath. Noodles as he is affectionately known\, was born to perform this music. He started singing CCR songs in his very first band when he was only 13 years old. \nCCR was an American rock band active in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Their musical style encompassed the roots rock and swamp rock genres. Creedence Clearwater Revival’s music is still a staple of American radio airplay and the band has sold 30 million albums in the United States alone. \nThe show is very faithful to a live CCR performance. Listeners enjoy a full 90 minute show of their favorite CCR classics (Bad Moon Rising\, Proud Mary\, Up Around the Bend to name a few) and songs that Creedence would turn into live jams such as Born on the Bayou and Susie Q. The band also mixes in John Fogerty classics including The Old Man Down the Road and Centerfield capturing the energy of his current show. \nCoolers and lawn chairs are welcome. \nThis project is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program\, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by the Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts.

SUMMARY:Feeling Long Lakey Polar Plunge
DESCRIPTION:REGISTRATION & BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS – 11AM \nPLUNGE at NOON \nThe Town of Long Lake Parks and Recreation Department along with support from the Long Lake Fire Department and the Long Lake Rescue Squad join forces for the long anticipated return of the “Feeling Long Lakey Polar Bear Plunge”  on December 30\, 2023.  The event kicks off on Saturday of New Years weekend at Noon at the Long Lake Town Beach\, 1258 Main Street\, Long Lake NY. \nThis is a fundraising event to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.  Anyone over the age of 16 is welcome to participate.  Participants will be eligible to win prizes for Best Costume\, Most Money Raised by an Individual\, Most Money Raised by a Team and Best Plunge Technique. \nFundraising efforts support Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) programs and services\, which are provided at no cost to warriors and their families.  Through their efforts at the community level\, the “Feeling Long Lakey Polar Plunge” is directly supporting WWP programs and services for warriors\, which include access to mental and physical health care\, employment assistance\, and education services. \nRegistration will be held at the Adirondack Hotel from 11am – 11:30am on Saturday\, December 30th with the plunge kicking off at Noon at the Town Beach.  The Long Lake Fire Department will be on site to cut the ice and help manage the safety of the Polar Bears and the Long Lake Rescue Squad will be on site checking blood pressure of the participants.  The Parks and Recreation department is seeking volunteers to be on site to hand out towels\, and handle registrations. \nParticipants are asked to bring towels\, robes\, warm clothes and must wear shoes.   There is a heated public restroom at the location and participants will have access to the building to change and to warm up. \nPre-Registration materials and Wounded Warrior Pledge sheets will be available on-line at www.mylonglake.com/polar-plunge and at the Long Lake Town Office Building\, 1130 Deerland Road weekdays from 8:30am – 5pm.  Call 518-624-3077 for more information. \nThere is a minimum of $25 per person fundraising donation to participate. DESCRIPTION:10am. The Long Lake Long Boat Regatta will begin at the Long Lake Town Beach. A competitive event featuring war canoes and C4 boats kicks off from the Long Lake Town Beach around 10am. Spectators are encouraged to attend. Boats paddle to the south end of the lake and back up towards Round Island.  Paddlers from all over the north east converge on this fun\, yet competitive event. DESCRIPTION:Friday\, August 18\, 2023 – NEW DATE! \nMusic by the Lake – Gratefully Yours\n6-8pm. Long Lake Town Beach. \nGratefully Yours is a Grateful Dead inspired band\, based out of New Paltz\, NY. The band was conceived and founded in 2012 by keyboardist Alex Mazur\, who is also the founder of The Deadbeats; one of the longest running Grateful Dead cover bands in existence. \nHowever\, “cover band” is an extremely misleading term when it comes to the music of Gratefully Yours. Their willingness and ability to improvise\, and their openness to spontaneity and the energy of the moment lie at the core of their performances and truly sets them apart. In the very best tradition of The Grateful Dead\, it is this openness that allows the crowd to become a part of the creative process and results in a synergy between the band and the crowd that is unique and truly special. It is that magic that Gratefully Yours truly aims to “cover” and pay tribute to. \nThey also allow their audience to participate further by giving them the opportunity to submit their dream setlists\, which Gratefully Yours just happen to choose and perform. But of course\, you just never know what might happen… \nThe band members are all long time highly regarded players in the scene: Alex Mazur\, Garrin Benfield\, Jude DeFalco\, Frank Casciaro\, Robert Schiff and Jessica Barlow. And they have some very special guests and friends who have and do sit in with them.
