The Durant Days and Boat Parade weekend kicks off.  This is a weekend of activities celebrating William West Durant\, the inventor of the Great Camps Style Architecture.  Take a boat tour of Raquette Lake aboard the WW Durant\, tour Great Camps\, Vespers service at St. Huberts. \n  \nAugust 1\, 2025    \nFRIDAY DURANT DAYS\nHistoric Long Point Visit   8:30-1:45 time  (Boat access only)\nBoard the WW Durant for a water taxi ride to St. Williams.  Captain will give you South Bay\, Pine Knot\, Echo Camp and St. Williams portions of the commentary before docking at St. Williams.  It’s an exciting historical journey at prominent historic locations call 315-354-5532 for reservations. \n  \nAugust 2nd\, 2025 \nSATURDAY DURANT DAYS \nDurant Days – Tour Great Camp Sagamore \n10am or 130pm. ½ price tickets for a guided tour of Great Camp Sagamore\, the Alfred Vanderbilt wilderness estate for over 50 years.  Reservations not required. \nhttps://www.sagamore.org/tours to buy discounted tickets on line. \n  \n2pm. Raquette Lake School. Wide Variety performs their own unique brand of acapella songs delivering over a quarter century of harmony\, fun\, and friendship. Anything goes!  We are looking for Party Barges\, Runabouts\, No-Octane.. if it floats and it’s a boat\, decorate it.  Get out on the water and show the classic spirit and tradition of Raquette Lake living.  Cash Prizes. \nAugust 3rd\, 2025 \nSUNDAY DURANT DAYS \nDurant Days and Boat Parade Weekend in Raquette Lake   \n10am or 130pm. ½ price tickets for a guided tour of Great Camp Sagamore\, the Alfred Vanderbilt wilderness estate for over 50 years.  Reservations not required. \nLunch in the historic dining hall at Great Camp Sagamore for $24.95 per person. \nBook a ticket for tour and lunch on line here  https://www.sagamore.org/tours .  Reservations must be made by 11 AM on Sunday Aug 3. \n3pm. This a cappella group has been delivering harmony\, fun\, and friendship for over 30 years. Don’t miss their renditions of some ’50s and ’60s classics; they’re sure to have you tapping your toes!  This program will be at the Raquette Lake School\, rain or shine. \n🎭 Grant Information:These programs are made possible with funds from the statewide Community Regrants Program\, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature\, administered by the Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts. \n🔔 About St. William’s:The historic St. William’s Church is open from Memorial Day to early September.
