The Durant Days and Boat Parade weekend kicks off.  This is a weekend of activities celebrating William West Durant\, the inventor of the Great Camps Style Architecture.  Take a boat tour of Raquette Lake aboard the WW Durant\, tour Great Camps\, Vespers service at St. Huberts. \n  \nAugust 1\, 2025    \nFRIDAY DURANT DAYS\nHistoric Long Point Visit   8:30-1:45 time  (Boat access only)\nBoard the WW Durant for a water taxi ride to St. Williams.  Captain will give you South Bay\, Pine Knot\, Echo Camp and St. Williams portions of the commentary before docking at St. Williams.  It’s an exciting historical journey at prominent historic locations call 315-354-5532 for reservations. \n  \nAugust 2nd\, 2025 \nSATURDAY DURANT DAYS \nDurant Days – Tour Great Camp Sagamore \n10am or 130pm. ½ price tickets for a guided tour of Great Camp Sagamore\, the Alfred Vanderbilt wilderness estate for over 50 years.  Reservations not required. \nhttps://www.sagamore.org/tours to buy discounted tickets on line. \n  \n2pm. Raquette Lake School. Wide Variety performs their own unique brand of acapella songs delivering over a quarter century of harmony\, fun\, and friendship. The Boat Parade in Raquette Lake begins at 6pm. Registration forms available at Burke’s or Birds Marina. DESCRIPTION:On July 31st\, Adirondack storytellers Jeannine Laverty & Dan Berggren join us for an evening of Adirondack music and folk tales. Laverty lives in Saratoga and has been telling international folks stories since the late 70s! You’ll have to join us to see what special tale she’ll share with us. Berggren is a songwriter and crafts the music behind the storytelling; his work speaks to home\, hard work\, taking care of our planet\, and each other! \nWe are pleased to once again offer public transportation from the Raquette Lake Town Dock to St. William’s on Long Point for our programs this year! \n🛶 Transportation Details:Thanks to Raquette Lake Camps for supplying the barge and to Captain Michael Bartow for piloting. Please arrive at the Town Dock by 5:30 PM\, as boarding is first-come\, first-served. The boat will depart promptly at 6:00 PM. \n⛪ Program Location & Times: \n\nConcerts take place at St. William’s on Long Point\, an historic 1890 church building accessible by boat.\nConcert Start Time:6:30 PM\nDuration:Approximately one hour\nYou are welcome to enjoy the concert from your own boat\, dock at the church\, or sit on the lawn with your blanket or chairs.\n\n🥧 Special Note:Each Thursday\, we will raffle off homemade pies by our local baker.
